This page describes what Folunio actually does with your data. None of it is boilerplate: every statement matches something in the code.

Where and what you read is yours alone

When you record a reading, we store the site, the page address, and which chapter it was. This never appears to anyone else, never counts towards any public tally or ranking, and every database query carries your identity.

It is not a setting someone can switch off by accident: it is a rule of the system, enforced by tests.

What we store

About your account: username, email address, chosen language, profile picture, and the date you joined. Only you can see the email address.

What you publish: shelf, reading status, ratings, reviews, comments, likes, lists, and who you follow. This is visible to other people.

What is yours alone: where you read and what you have read.

Your password is not stored. Only a cryptographic digest of it is kept, and it cannot be reversed — not even by us.

Sign-in and sign-up attempts, to block abuse. IP addresses are not stored in the clear: they go through a keyed digest, so a database leak does not hand over addresses.

We do not track you

There is no analytics, no pixel, and no tracker of any kind. The site's fonts are served from our own domain, not from Google.

The exception, and it is only fair to say so: cover art is loaded straight from Kitsu's servers. That means they see the IP address of whoever visits.

Cookies

Three, and none of them follows you across other sites: one keeps your session, one remembers your chosen language, and one remembers your theme.

Who we talk to

Kitsu and AniList, to look up titles. They receive the search, not you.

GitHub, when you report a translation error: the report becomes an issue in the project's repository, containing what you wrote.

Vercel and Neon, which host the site and the database.

The browser extension

To work out the chapter, it reads the address and title of the tab — Chrome presents this as “read your browsing history”, and that description is honest.

It injects no script and reads no site's content, and it only records when you click.

Deleting your account

In your account settings, at any time. Everything tied to it goes: shelf, ratings, reviews, comments, likes, lists, who you follow, and your reading history.
